THINK IT FORWARD
Parliamentary Advocacy
Work in politics
My political work spans parliamentary research, cross-party campaigning, and policy advocacy on housing, health, and social connection.
My political work began with supporting a Shadow Minister for Mental Health with parliamentary research around mental health and social care. I later worked for More United as Campaigns and Communications Officer, building cross-party support among MPs and coordinating grassroots campaigns with volunteers across the UK to drive progress on shared priorities.
My current political advocacy focuses on housing, health, tackling loneliness and intergenerational connection — engaging national conversations and parliamentary inquiries around how we design communities that enable people to live more connected, fulfilling lives.
Evidence to Parliament: Intergenerational Communities
In Summer and Autumn 2025, I submitted and presented written and spoken evidence to the Housing & Care for Older People All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) Inquiry on Creating Intergenerational Communities, convened by the Housing Learning and Improvement Network (Housing LIN). The APPG is co-chaired by Lord Best and Anna Dixon MP, the former of whom endorsed my publication Beyond the White Picket Fence: A companion for intergenerational communal housing, and the latter wrote the forward.
My evidence focused on international examples of intergenerational housing and community models that improve wellbeing, reduce loneliness and strengthen social cohesion. It highlighted the importance of affordability, inclusivity, and designing for connection in housing and planning policy.
APPG on Tackling Loneliness and Connected Communities
I am a member of the APPG on Tackling Loneliness and Connected Communities, chaired by Paul Davies MP and Lord Shaun Bailey, with Intergenerational England as Secretariat.
The APPG brings together parliamentarians, researchers and practitioners working to address social isolation across the UK.
I contribute to two subgroups:
-
Housing & Place – exploring how design and planning can support social connection.
-
Health & Care – focusing on links between loneliness, health and system reform.
